Novotel Mount Meru Hotel

Mount Meru Hotel is situated in Arusha. It is a 1960's built 7 story building and has almost 200 rooms. On one side. the rooms overlook the pool and a golf course, and on the other side, there is a view of Mount Meru itself. The hotel has reasonably "international" standards and facilities including telephones and cable TV in every room.

The hotel is about 45 minutes drive from Kilimanjaro International Airport and will usually provide a collection delivery service for residents. The public shuttle bus service to Nairobi starts and terminates at this hotel. there are meeting and convention rooms available at this hotel and there is entertainment provided most evenings in the bar and at weekends in the restaurant. ...[more]

Karama Lodge

Due to open in November 2001, when we visited the site in early October we were very impressed and confident enough in the work completed to date to reckon that this will be the best lodge in its price range in Arusha.

The lodge is set on the side of one of Arusha's characteristic volcanic hills and as you look out over the beautiful valley with views of Meru and Kili behind, it is hard believe that you are so close to town.

We highly recommend Karama perhaps for a slightly younger crowd who would prefer not to spend the extra for Moivaro, or who feel happier in a more laid-back and deliberately less refined atmosphere.
